Our Philosphy
Welcome to 2nd Grade! A pivotal year where we move from learning to read to reading to learn. We have implemented a standards-based curriculum using Harcourt Brace's Math and Science programs, the Houghton Mifflin Language Arts program and Scott Foresman's Social Studies curriculum. Reader's and Writer's Workshops are also a central part of our curriculum and are based on Columbia University's Reading & Writing Project which has been adopted district-wide. All of our instruction incorporates hands-on learning experiences using cooperative groups to provide differentiated instruction through multiple intelligences.
