Classroom Music and After School Choir
The joy of music is shared with all students at Quail Run Elementary!
My name is Suzanne Thomas, and I have been the vocal music teacher at Quail Run Elementary since the school opened. I am a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing and have taught vocal music for over 20 years. Prior to moving to the San Ramon area, I was the Children's Program Director for Capitol Opera and a board member of Sacramento Community Opera Theatre. I have an extensive background in opera, musical theatre and concert performance.
CLASSROOM MUSIC:
All students at Quail Run participate in classroom music lessons in singing, playing rhythm instruments and learning music facts and theory. In addition, third grade students learn to play the recorder, a flute-like wind instrument. Students also perform in grade-level evening concerts for parents and family. Please check the school calendar for those dates.
AFTER SCHOOL CHOIR:
For those third, fourth and fifth grade students who love to sing, we have an after-school choir program. The beginning choir is a non-audition choir open to third, fourth and fifth grade students. The honor choir is open to fourth and fifth grade students who pass an audition test. Choir members are given additional performance opportunities throughout the year.
